Q: What are your hours?

A: Our hours vary depending on the season. Our slow season is when school is in session (generally September through May/June), so we are only open for evening showings Monday through Thursday. We are open all day every Friday through Sunday year-round. We are open all day every day during school breaks and school holidays, including all summer long.

Q: Are you open on holidays?

A: We are open on every holiday except for Thanksgiving.

Q: I’ve tried calling the theater to speak with someone, why is nobody picking up?

A: Depending on the time of day you’re calling, someone may or may not be in the office. If you continue to have issues reaching the theater directly, please email your questions to [email protected].

Q: Do you have Wi-Fi for customers?

A: This varies by theater. Please ask a theater employee if the specific theater you are at offers Wi-Fi for guests.

TICKET PURCHASES, PASSES, MOVIE + SHOWTIME QUESTIONS

Q: Why aren’t your showtimes posted for this weekend yet?

A: We receive our movie schedule from our booking agent on Tuesday mornings. We work on and publish our movie schedule on Tuesday afternoons. When in doubt, always check back – they’ll be posted, we promise!

Q: Why are showtimes available for only one day coming up but the surrounding days’ movie times are not listed?

A: Sometimes when we have a special event or showing and anticipate a large turnout (think a big movie premiere or a breakfast buffet showing) we specifically schedule those showings well ahead of time so people can pre-purchase tickets.

Q: How early should I arrive for a movie if I didn’t pre-purchase tickets?

A: We recommend guests show up between forty-five minutes and an hour prior to movie start time. When it comes to premieres and popular movies, you may want to show up even earlier.

Q: How early should I arrive for a movie if I did pre-purchase tickets?

A: We recommend that even if you have pre-purchased tickets for a movie that you still show up forty-five minutes to an hour prior to movie start time. While pre-purchasing tickets does guarantee your group seats in the theater, it does not guarantee you seating together since our seating works on a first come, first serve basis.

Q: I purchased tickets online. How do I pick them up at the theater? Can I skip the line, or do I have to wait?

A: During busy times we will have a line open and dedicated to online ticket purchases. During regular and slow times, you will still have to wait in the regular line and present your credit card and/or confirmation number to collect your tickets at the concession counter.

Q: How old do you have to be to accompany someone underage for a rated R motion picture?

A: Any individuals under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult of 21+ years to see an R rated motion picture. This adult must remain with the individual(s) under 17 throughout the duration of the movie.

Q: What happens if I pre-purchased tickets but I can’t find seats together when I arrive to the theater?

A: While pre-purchasing tickets does guarantee you and your group seats in the theater, there is no guarantee that those seats will be together due to the fact that our seating works on a first come, first serve basis. This is why we recommend that guests show up at least forty-five minutes to an hour prior to showtime. If you are truly unsatisfied with the situation, please bring this to the attention of the manager on duty and they will either refund your tickets or place you in the next showing of the film.

Q: Can I refund my online ticket purchase?

A: Yes, you can. Please call the theater directly or email [email protected] to have your online ticket purchase refunded.

Q: I accidentally purchased tickets to the wrong theater location. What do I do?

A: Please email [email protected] and someone will be in touch with you to remedy this mistake. All ticket purchases, unless due to extenuating circumstances, will be honored.

Q: Do you accept personal checks as a form of payment?

A: Smitty’s does not accept personal checks. We accept cash, debit and all major credit cards excluding American Express as forms of payment.

Q: Why do you not accept complimentary passes for some movies?

A: Complimentary passes are not accepted for some features due to production company restrictions. For example, Disney does not allow us to accept complimentary passes within the first 17 days of a movie premiere. Smitty’s does not have any control over the rules put forth regarding complimentary passes.

Q: Why won’t it let me purchase more than 6 tickets online?

A: Our ticketing software only allows the purchase of 6 tickets at a time. If you wish to purchase more tickets for a larger group, you will have to do so in separate transactions.

Q: When do you find out if you will be getting a movie or not?

A: We generally find out a couple of weeks ahead of time from our booking agent on whether we will be receiving a movie or not.

Q: Why don’t you get certain movies at your cinema?

A: Unfortunately production companies call the shots as far as who they distribute their movies to; seeing as we are a smaller cinema, we tend to only book the “big blockbusters” which can sometimes result in us not booking smaller, independent films.

Q: Children under what age get in for free?

A: All children 3 and under get in for free.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE QUESTIONS

Q: What is the cutoff time for ordering food when I come to see a movie?

A: Our kitchen generally closes a half an hour after the last movie of each set. For example, if the last movie of the first set begins at 1:00 PM, the kitchen would close at 1:30 PM.

 Q: What kind of fry oil do you use?

A: The fry oil we use varies on time of year. All oils used at our establishments are free of trans-fats.
